The encompassing of sin means that the legally responsible person commits the evil deed deliberately, knowing its ugliness and that Allah Exalted is He has forbidden it, and then does not rid himself of that sin through repentance and seeking forgiveness until he dies upon it. This is the meaning of sin encompassing its possessor namely, that sin overtakes him until death.
There is no way to escape that except through repentance. If one does not repent before death, then his sin has encompassed and overtaken him. But whoever repents before death from his sin, seeks Allah’s forgiveness, and then dies, his sin has not encompassed him, and there is no liability upon him.
(8). The h adī ths that are narrated concerning exiting the Fire are solitary reports (āḥād). Even if authentic, they produce only conjecture, whereas what is required here is certainty; therefore, they are not accepted. Moreover, they contradict the clear and explicit texts of the Qur’an.
Furthermore, Ahl al Sunnah wa al Jama ʿah cannot definitively establish the authenticity of those h adī ths. At most, they say in support of their authenticity: “It was narrated by Muslim,” or “by al Bukha rī ,” or “by so and so,” and “declared authentic by so and so.”
If they say that, we respond: The authentication of a h adī th by al
Bukha rī , Muslim, Abu Da wu d, or others is not proof of its authenticity; rather, it is merely a claim requiring evidence.
There is no proof establishing that the statement of any of those scholars is a binding proof that must be acted upon. Rather, Ahl al
Sunnah wa al Jama ʿah have agreed among themselves to consider the statements of those imams as proof and binding authority that must be followed but their agreement upon that is not itself a proof or evidence in Islam. The legal proofs, as you know, are the Book, the Sunnah, consensus, and analogy. The convention of Ahl al Sunnah is not one of those proofs; therefore, it is not permissible to rely upon it or give it consideration. Rather, it must be rejected, for it is among the innovated matters not sanctioned by Allah Exalted is He
