السؤال

a question: A woman was performing ablution for prayer, then she would perform voluntary prayers as much as God willed, then urine came to her, so she urinated and cleaned herself without performing ablution. Thinking that the first ablution would suffice, She remained like this for a long time until some of her relatives noticed her and alerted her. What is required of her in this regard?

الجواب

The answer is God willing: What appears to me - and God knows best - is that she is not required to make up for that. This is because ignorance may be an excuse in minor issues, as evidenced by the Almighty’s saying: {And Allah would not lead a people astray after He has guided them until He makes clear to them what they should avoid.} [At-Tawbah: 11] 115] The meaning of the Almighty’s saying: {But whoever receives an admonition from his Lord and desists may have what is past, and his affair rests with Allah.} [Al-Baqarah: 21] 275] The Prophet, may God bless him and his family and grant them peace, said to the one who prayed alone behind the rows: May Allah increase your keenness, and do not do it again.
