Question
Question: A man traveled a distance at which prayer may be shortened, but he forgot and prayed in full, serving as imam. He then returned to his home and, after returning, remembered that he should have shortened. What is required of him?
Answer
Answer: What appears to me is that nothing is required of him and his prayer sufficed, because he did not remember until the time for shortening had effectively lapsed—his arrival home is tantamount to the expiration of the time. Matters of juristic dispute are not made up nor repeated once their time has passed.
