His original homeland is the city of Ḍaḥyān, which was known at that time as the City of Scholars, where he was born and raised, then in Qaḥzah, Sufyān, and elsewhere.
However, the earth was not alone his homeland; rather, hearts were his refuge, souls his abode, and minds his sanctuary. Wherever he settled, he shone; wherever he descended, he was honoured; wherever he journeyed, he was surrounded with welcome and veneration. Thus, his homeland became the earth and the human being, the place and the conscience, the hearts and the minds. Combined for him were the nobility of lineage and the elevation of the Madhhab.
