Question: If a state is established for the truth, and in the lands there are Salafis, Ash‘aris, Imamiyyah, and Mu‘tazilah, then what will be the stance toward them?
The answer: If all submit to obedience outwardly, then it is upon the authority of truth to clarify the truth and its proofs, and to intensify that and repeat it among those groups, and it is not fitting for him to inflict upon any of those groups any harm as long as they are in obedience; and thus did the Commander of the Faithful (Peace be Upon Him) deal with the Kharijites.
