Question: In our lands there sometimes comes a vow or charity “for al-Hādī” from many people, and we do not know what they intend by “al-Hādī”. Do they mean the mosque? Or the shrine and dome of al-Hādī? Or the students who study in his shrine? And this is while knowing that the agents of al-Hādī who are appointed to receive such things – it is not known where they take them. So what should one do with such offerings when they come into his hand to be delivered “to al-Hādī”?
Answer: What appears to me is that what the one who makes a vow or gives charity “for al-Hādī” intends is the mosque, and the mosque of al-Hādī (Peace be Upon Him) is already sufficiently provided for by the abundance of its endowments.
What I see in this matter is that whoever has a charity “for al-Hādī” fall into his hand should spend it on a mosque in need, or on reviving knowledge, or on some public interest.
