[The Origin of the Creation of the Animals upon the Face of the Earth]

The answer: What appears is that they are created from clay; because in their creation they are like the human being, from flesh and blood and bone; then if the animal dies, it becomes dust with the passing of time; and in that is an indication that its origin is dust. And likewise, Hawwa’— she is created from clay like Adam; and that is what is more likely in my view.
And Allah, Exalted is He, only did not relate to us the story of the beginning of her creation as He related the beginning of the creation of Adam, sufficing with His mentioning the story of the beginning of the creation of Adam, and what was joined to the beginning of his creation (Peace be Upon Him) of Allah’s will to honor him, and of the temptation of Iblis, then his entering (Peace be Upon Him) the Garden, and the temptation of Iblis for him (Peace be Upon Him); and afterwards, Hawwa’ is a follower to Adam, and she does not have of honor what Adam has.
