[Ruling on One Who Says: “My wife is divorced, and whenever she becomes lawful to me, she is ḥarām.”]

Answer: The mentioned wife is divorced with a revocable divorce by his saying, “My wife is divorced.” There is no legal effect to what he appended—“and whenever she becomes lawful to me, she is ḥarām”—for divorce does not follow upon divorce.
