Question: If a hireling is engaged to perform an ifrād Hajj [a stand-alone Hajj] to be followed by an ʿumrah after the Days of Tashrīq, for an agreed wage—does this hiring contract remain valid even if the end of the hiring period is not precisely determined?
Answer — and Allah grants success: The hiring is valid, because the rites of Hajj are limited and well-known. What is so defined does not require mentioning or specifying a duration; the element of uncertainty is thereby removed in this and what resembles it.
