Question: A man sold a plot of land for a known price, in a valid sale. Then, at the end of the sale, he stated that he “bore witness and vowed and sold” for what had been mentioned. What is the ruling of this vow that accompanied the sale?
Answer – and Allah is the One who grants success: Consideration is given to the sale in what is mentioned, and the vow has no ruling; because an exchange has taken place and the essence of sale exists. Thus, the mention of the vow is mere idle wording.
