Imam al-Mujaddid li-Din Majd al-Din ibn Muhammad al-Mu’ayyidi (peace be upon him) said: Know, O brother, may God support us and you with His support, and enlighten us with His kindness and guidance, that whoever contemplates the beginning and the end, and looks with the eye of investigation at the end of the conditions of the servants, will know with certainty that there is no benefit or fruit for any word or action that is not intended to conform to God’s commands and prohibitions, and to agree with His will for His servants and to please Him, and that which one is compelled to do, then it is governed by the ruling of necessity. This is because it is known, about which no rational person hesitates, that this world will not remain, nor will anything in it remain, but rather it is a passing shadow, a leaning support, and a passing delusion. And God is the One who said:
A young man's competition is in what is fleeting, and the one who chooses little is less than him.
There is evidence of his lack of ambition, and all the benefits of this world are few.
How then, a house other than this house:
The pleasure vanishes from those who attain their desires. The consequence of evil remains in its aftermath.
From what is forbidden, and sin and shame remain.
There is no good in pleasure after which there is Hell.
No one can express it more eloquently than our Lord, who encompasses all things in knowledge, expressed and warned, such as His Most High’s saying: {O mankind, indeed the promise of Allah is truth, so let not the worldly life delude you and let not the Deceiver deceive you about Allah.} [Luqman: 33]. Were it not for what Allah intended by it of establishing His proof and making clear His wisdom, His just judgment and His final judgment, that He would not reward or punish based on mere knowledge from Him, glory be to Him, but rather He, glory be to Him, rewards for deeds after empowerment and choice, and excuse and warning. Allah, the Most High, said: {Do whatever you will. Indeed, He, with what you do, is surely [due to] Your punishment.} You work, and He is All-Seeing.} [Fussilat:40].
Allah the Almighty said: {Indeed, We created man from a sperm-drop mixture that We may try him; and We made him hearing and seeing. Indeed, We guided him to the way, be he grateful or ungrateful.} [Al-Insan: 2], {And by the soul and He who proportioned it. 7 And inspired it with its wickedness and its righteousness. 8} [Ash-Shams: 7-8], {And We guided him to the two ways. 10} [Al-Balad: 10], and for this reason He gave them an example of His command to be tested and tried, and He is the All-Knowing, the All-Aware. He said: {Blessed is He in whose hand is dominion, and He is over all things competent.} {All things are competent. He who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed – and He is the Exalted in Might, the Forgiving.} [Al-Mulk: 1-2]. Were it not for what divine wisdom decreed, its creation and everything in it would have been in vain and a game, and a burden and exhaustion for its people. For this reason, the Almighty said, and He is far above all matters of His affair: {Did you then think that We created you uselessly and that to Us you would not be returned?} [Al-Mu’minun: 115]. {So exalted is God, the King, the Truth. There is no god except Him.} {Lord of the Noble Throne} [Al-Mu’minun], {And We did not create the heaven and the earth and that between them in play. 16 If We had intended to take a diversion, We could have taken it from Ourself, if We were to do. 17} [Al-Anbiya’: 16-17], {And We did not create the heavens and the earth and that between them in play. 38 We did not create them except in truth, but most of them do not know. 39} [Ad-Dukhan: 38], but He, glory be to Him, is exalted above all authority. His authority has arranged for it two permanent abodes, which will never end or be interrupted, and what is in them will never be exhausted or elevated. Either bliss and dominion that will never wear out, or torment and boiling water that will never cease. We seek refuge in His mercy from His torment, and we hope in His forgiveness and good reward. It is right for God, the worshipped, for every rational person to seek out for himself the path of salvation and avoid everything that will cut him off from what his Master intended for him.
And if one looks, he will know that misguidance did not exist in this nation or previous nations except through following whims, which is the origin of turning away from the truth, relying on the world, avoiding fairness, and obeying the great and the forefathers. God Almighty said to His Messenger David, may God’s prayers be upon him: {And do not follow whims, for it will lead you astray from the way of God} [Sad: 26], and God Almighty said: {But if they do not respond to you – then know that they only follow their whims. And who is more astray than he who follows his whims without guidance from God? Indeed, God does not guide the wrongdoing people} [50]. [Al-Qasas], {But as for he who transgressed and preferred the life of this world, then indeed, Hellfire will be the refuge. And as for he who feared the position of his Lord and prevented the soul from [his own] inclination, then indeed, Paradise will be the refuge.} [An-Nazi’at].
And He, the Most High, said: {And they said, “If the Most Merciful had willed, we would not have worshipped them.” They have no knowledge of that. They are only falsifying. 20 Or have We given them a scripture before this, to which they cling? 21 Rather, they say, “Indeed, we found our fathers following a religion, and indeed, we are guided by their footsteps.” 22} [Az-Zukhruf: 20-22].
Know that Allah, the Most High, has not been pleased for His servants, as you know, with anything but a sound religion, a straight path, a single way, and a crooked path. Sufficient is His saying, the Most High, the Most Majestic: {And that this is My path, which is straight, so follow it and do not follow [other] ways, for they will separate you from His way. This He has enjoined upon you that you may become righteous.} [Al-An`am: 153], and He has most vehemently prohibited division with this verse and others like it from the Noble Book, and with speaking about Him, the Most High, without knowledge, and arguing with falsehood. The Possessor of Majesty said: {He has ordained for you of religion what He has enjoined upon you, {Noah, and that which We have revealed to you, and that which We enjoined upon Abraham and Moses and Jesus – to establish the religion and not be divided therein.} [Ash-Shura: 13], and the evidence for all of this has been presented in the explanation of our statement:
And He knows what has been or what will be.
Our Photographer, Glory be to Him, the Most High, the Creator
No need to repeat.
It is definitely known that divisions in religion will occur. The hadiths about the division of the nation have been mentioned previously, and reality confirms them. God Almighty said: {And they will not cease to differ, except whom your Lord has mercy upon. And for that He created them.} [Hud: 118-119].
The star of the Prophet’s family, Al-Qasim ibn Ibrahim, may God’s prayers be upon them, said in his interpretation: God said, “differing,” because disagreement will always exist between those who are right and those who are wrong. It is a message from God Almighty about what will happen, and that they will always differ in what they begin to discuss. Disagreement comes from them and within them, and that is why God attributed it to them.
And His statement, “Except for those upon whom your Lord has mercy,” refers to the believers, for they are united in their religion and do not differ. And His statement, the Blessed and Exalted, “And for that He created them,” means, “to enable them to do what is necessary, whether for good or for evil.” Had He not created them thus and based on what He created them, they would not have differed over anything, nor would He have sent down commands or prohibitions upon them, nor would there have been among them a wrongdoer or a doer of good, a disbeliever or a believer, etc.
The words of his grandson, Al-Hadi ila Al-Haqq, are like his words, and the author of Al-Kashshaf interpreted the verse in the same sense as they mentioned. I compared his expressions in his interpretation of the verses and found them to be very compatible with the words of the imams who came before him, especially in interpreting the Qur’anic verses based on rhetorical meanings. The origin of that is that he relied on the interpretation of Al-Hakim Al-Jashmi – Al-Tahdhib, and Al-Hakim’s method of following their beacon and being guided by their lights is known, and this is an incidental one.
Some of our later imams and others have delved into enumerating the seventy-three sects, including: Imam Yahya, Imam Mahdi, and al-Qurashi, the author of al-Minhaaj. How excellent is what the Imam of Investigation, Imam Izz al-Din ibn al-Hasan, peace be upon him, said about al-Mi’raj, which he stated: And I say, and success is from God: As for identifying the seventy-three, it is something that none of us should attempt except through divine revelation, for it is not possible to be certain of it and to firmly believe in it… until he said: As for knowing the saved sect, the path to it is attainable… until the end of his words. You know that God’s religion is not subject to whims: {And if the truth were to follow their whims, the heavens and the earth would indeed be ruined} [Al-Mu’minun: 71], {So what is there after the truth except error?} [Yunus: 32], {They have instituted for themselves a religion which God has not permitted} [Ash-Shura: 21].
Yes, each group claims that the truth is with them, and that salvation is for those who follow them:
Everyone claims to be connected to Layla
Laila does not admit that to them
However, a genius among those who do not care about religion and contradict reason and the clear Book went to correct all observers, and most of this group has no goal except to help the politicians and to reconcile the divided. They combined errors and said all the ignorance. Did they not know that God Almighty is the wisest of judges, and that He rules without questioning His judgment, and that He has no leniency with any of His creation, and that their obedience and gathering in His kingdom does not increase, nor does their division and disobedience decrease His authority, {O mankind, you are those in need of Allah, and Allah is the Free of need, the Praiseworthy.} [Fatir], and He addressed the Master of His Messengers, peace be upon him, with His words, the Almighty and Majestic: {So stand firm as you have been commanded, and those who repent with you {And do not transgress. Indeed, He is Seeing of what you do.} [Hud], even though he and those with him were among the people of Badr, so reflect and consider if you are among those who consider.
If you have comprehensive knowledge of that, and understand what God and His Messenger have required of you in those paths, you will know that it is incumbent upon you to recognize the truth and follow it, be loyal to its people, and be with them, {O you who have believed, fear God and be with those who are true} [At-Tawbah: 119].
And abandoning falsehood and its followers, and being distinct from them: {And whoever among you takes them as allies, then indeed, he is of them} [Al-Ma’idah: 51], {You will not find a people who believe in Allah and the Last Day having affection for those who oppose Allah and His Messenger, even if they were their fathers or their sons or their brothers or their kindred} [Al-Mujadila: 22], {O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, throwing to them [your enemies] yourselves [your enemies], [saying], “O you who believe, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, throwing to them [your enemies] yourselves [your enemies], [saying], “O you who believe, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, throwing to them [your enemies] yourselves, [saying], “O you who believe, do not take [your enemies] … {With affection} [Al-Mumtahanah: 1], in verses that are recited and news that are dictated. You will not be able to know the truth and its people except by relying on the clear arguments of God and His evident and manifest proofs, with which He guided creation to the truth, without heeding whims, nor paying attention to argument or dispute, nor caring about a doctrine, nor advocating for a position, {O you who have believed, be persistently standing firm in justice, witnesses for God, even if it be against yourselves or parents and relatives} [An-Nisa’: 135].
You have heard God condemn those who take their rabbis and monks as lords besides God, and what He has narrated of some of them disowning each other, cursing each other, and the severing of ties upon seeing the torment. Do not be terrified by the intensity of falsehood and the multitude of its people, and do not be frightened by the crushing of the truth and the small number of its supporters, for your Lord, glory be to Him, says: {And most of the people are not believers, no matter how eager you are} [Yusuf: 103], {And few of My servants are grateful} [Saba’: 13], {And if you obey most of those on the earth, they will mislead you from the way of God. They follow not except assumption, and they are They only lie. [Al-An`am: 116]
Know – as I have mentioned to you – that the claims are shared by all groups, and all of them claim that they are more deserving of the truth, and that their leaders and notables are the ones who deserve obedience, and the people of the Sunnah and the Community. It is well known that no statement is accepted except with proof, as has been made clear by the evidence of the wise, and the decisive Sunnah and the Book. And God Almighty knows, and He is in control of everything, that we have not built our entire affair except on fairness and submission to the ruling of the Almighty Lord, in accordance with the proof: {The nature of God upon which He has created mankind. No change should there be in the creation of God.} [Ar-Rum: 30]
And I say:
I swear by God, the Most High, the Great, an oath whose truth is known to the All-Knowing, All-Aware, that we have no aim or desire other than submitting to God’s judgment and adhering to the requirements of His command. And that if we knew the truth regarding the furthest reaches of creation, whether Arab or non-Arab, Qurayshi or Abyssinian, we would accept it from him and accept it from him, and we would not be averse to… Following him, but we are among his helpers and followers against him. So let the observer say whatever he wants, and let him not observe anyone but his Lord, and fear nothing but his sin. For the judgment is God, and the appointed time is the Day of Resurrection, and to God all matters are returned.
This, and you, O one who looks into his religion and advises himself, who seeks in the Book of his Lord and the Sunnah of his Prophet, if you sincerely look into the evidence, and purely think to know the path, and follow the proofs and evidence of God, and are guided by the guidance of God and the enlightenment of His verses, you will know that the just testimony from the Book of the Lord of the Worlds and the Sunnah of the Trustworthy Messenger, by the consensus of all those who differ, has not been established for a specific group, nor for a known faction of the Muslims except for the family of the Messenger, his progeny and his heirs. For it has been known about them that which has made the proof clear to those with sight, and has become as famous as the sun at noon, and the registers of Islam have been filled with it, and the elite and the common people have testified to it, and the tongues of the obstinate have spoken of it, and God has brought forth the truth with it from the mouths of the deniers, to establish His proof and make His path clear to all of His creation {so that he who perishes may perish by clear evidence and he who lives may live by clear evidence. {Evidence, and indeed, Allah is Hearing and Knowing.} [Al-Anfal: 42]
We point out, with God’s help and guidance, a small portion of what shone from that brilliant dawn and the roaring sea, by way of brevity, while including that most important objective, the solution to the questions raised regarding the evidence concerning the Verse of Purification, and the general consensus of the family of Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon them, and some of them we mention even though they have been answered, like that which the last Imam, the Victorious, Abdullah bin Al-Hassan, spoke about in the dangerous model, either because the answer is far from the point of view, or to increase the report in revealing the problem.
Know that what has been narrated about them, may the blessings of God be upon them, cannot be denied in its entirety, nor can we encompass its mention. Imam Izz al-Din ibn al-Hasan said in Al-Mi’raj, quoting from Imam al-Mansur Billah Abdullah ibn Hamza, # the following: He said #: The most just of testimonies is the testimony of one opponent for his opponent, as it is followed by an admission that cannot be abrogated by a denial. The Shi’a have multiplied their narrations with authentic chains of transmission to a degree that is beyond our ability to enumerate in our time, except that it is a vast number.
Until he said: We left what the Shiites narrate through their authentic chains of transmission, which no scholar can refute except by what undermines the principles of noble Islam, as well as what our fathers % specialized in.
Until he said after mentioning some of the books of the Sunnis: The chapters that these books deal with regarding the pure family are forty-five chapters, including nine hundred and twenty hadiths, of which one hundred and ninety-four hadiths are from Musnad Ahmad ibn Hanbal, seventy-nine hadiths from Sahih al-Bukhari, and ninety-five hadiths from Sahih Muslim. Then he listed that until it was complete.
I said: By God, the master hafiz Muhammad bin Ibrahim al-Wazir says:
The people and the Qur’an, so appreciate their value. They have virtues that I cannot enumerate.
Two weighty things for the two weighty things. The text of Muhammad. Whoever seeks to count the shooting stars will not find many.
