The first of them was his father, the learned, ascetic and devout scholar: Yahya ibn al-Husayn ibn Amir al-Din al-Muthahhar; his uncle, his father\u2019s brother, the Sheikh of the Progeny and their distinguished scholar: al-Hasan ibn al-Husayn ibn Amir al-Din al-Muthahhar; and then his uncle and his father\u2019s brother, al-\u2018All\u0101mah: Amir al-Din ibn al-Husayn. The people of this house are people of knowledge, asceticism and piety; they are renowned, honoured and respected, and their house remains a centre of learning to this day and for as long as Allah wills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Among his teachers, may Allah preserve him, was his elder brother, al-Sayyid al-\u2018All\u0101mah Muhammad ibn Yahya ibn al-Husayn al-Muthahhar, may Allah preserve him. Among his teachers was his cousin, the scholar and investigator Sayyid Ahmad ibn al-Hasan ibn al-Husayn al-Muthahhar, may Allah have mercy on him. Among his teachers was the judge, the scholar and investigator Yahya ibn Jabran Ja\u2019far, may Allah have mercy on him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And the most famous of his teachers and mentors was the Imam, the Reviver of the religion, Majd al-Din ibn Muhammad ibn Mansur al-Mu\u2019ayyidi, may Allah have mercy on him and grant him His pleasure. He \u2013 may Allah be pleased with him \u2013 had other teachers besides those I have mentioned; he told me of them, but they slipped my mind whilst writing these lines.
